God is calling the church to live in the world as a witness to Him and His rule and reign. As we live on a mission for God, the credibility of our witness in the world is tied to the contrast of how we live our lives, which is different from the world. We are able to thrive through practicing faithful presence as we trust our loving God.

In exile, a fiery faith of conviction is needed to face the fiery furnace of cultural conformity. As we progress through transitions, tests, trials, and triumphs, we need to leverage our earthly citizenship to appeal for justice, seek well-being, pursue God’s mission, and exercise our rights as citizens to achieve the good and flourishing of all. Our goal is to think deeply and biblically as we engage with American democracy and, as we do so, leverage our earthly citizenship for heavenly good.

Paul taught and modeled how to advance the life of the King and his Kingdom through the power of the Holy Spirit so that the world was turned upside down.

Life is the stage for our faith to be on display. An onslaught of challenging elements along the journey of life will need to be faced. Preparation is needed to respond, react, and navigate these elements as we demonstrate and display our faith and give glory to God.

Acts 23-26 | Paul: A Beacon of Faith, Justice, and Love on Trial

Sermon Synopsis - May 4-5, 2024
Paul was on trial because of his faith in Jesus Christ. Throughout the trials, Paul demonstrated a life of faith that lived out true justice, leading the world toward being a better, more functional and more flourishing place. In contrast with his Jewish accusers, Paul's message was all about love, forgiveness and transformation. Paul did not react, retaliate, or seek revenge for any injustice that he suffered. Paul continued to be God's servant and witness, letting God be the sovereign authority.
